Feelings – Emotions

“Feelings are important in our life as they come from heart. If you respond back, they grow. I you ignore they die, if you respect, they stay forever”

When read the above quotation on my whatsapp and my thoughts started to flow in different directions. Everything seems to be complicated about feelings and emotions. When I started to write about feelings and emotions, i don’t know the complexity. I am confused what’s going on. Started with one point but could not stop the flow of my thoughts.

I have no conclusions, no scientific reasons.

Usually we are confused by emotions and feelings. Both are very much interconnected but are different things. According to science, emotions occur in sub cordial regions of brain, where as feelings occur in neocortical regions and are mental associations.

Here sharing my thoughts on feelings and emotions from my perceptions. Both of them are important and change. Our feelings on a person, things change from time to time. In my opinion from our feelings emotions begin. Today what we think we are emotionally attached may not necessarily feel the same in the future. Understanding our emotions and behaving accordingly, tracking the feelings help our life to lead happy.

Emotions are very powerful. The basic emotions in our day to day life are sad, happy, fear, surprise, and anger and so on. We out the emotions we are not human beings. The differences between emotions and feelings make them to be tackled differently. Feelings on a particular person, living thing, food anything related to us need to be understood, while emotions need attachment or detachment.

When we feel some one is important for us we are emotionally connected to them. In childhood we are emotionally attached to parents, then family, next friends, after that a special friend, spouse, children and grand children. We share we laugh we cry with them today, tomorrow we may not share feelings with them. We may not be emotionally attached in the same manner as earlier but, we have the feelings for them.

We express our feelings emotionally. Feelings result from thinking. If we think a particular person is important for us, feel something like- liking, loving, respecting, and hating that particular person. If we feel that person is important, an emotional attachment starts between us.

We can define our feelings in words, while emotions are shown psychologically. Emotions come and go, where as feelings take time to change. Feeling develops slowly. It can change and be with us for days, weeks, months and years.

To have better mental health, peaceful and happy life, we need to learn how to regulate the emotions and hear our inner feelings.
